A friend of mine, JuggoPop of JuggoPop.com gave me this link a while ago. This is basically a virtual iPod on which you can listen to music streamed from the net. You don’t need to register to listen to the music but you must become a member to create your playlists which can be either public or private. A great way to listen to music at work or anywhere you have an internet connection. Check it out!

Currently, one of my favorite groups is Rammstein, I love their style and since they sing in German, it’s a definite plus!

Well I’m doing a test. I turned my comments/trackbacks to be opened for a max of 5 days now as I’ve been hit with 5000+ spam comments on my blog since last Friday. You read that right, 5000+. My spam plugin filtered them all a thing for which I am very thankful for, otherwise I’d had to manually delete those 5000 entries by hand which would’ve been a very strenuous task.

If that 5 days doesn’t work, I might turn the comments off completely for a week or two so that I might get off some spammer list somewhere. I don’t want to have to use a captcha unless I have no choice.

Google AdsenseI placed the first Google Adsense on my blog on Thursday, June 8, 2006. As I was mentionning in a previous blog entry, I’m doing this as a test. Well it’s been almost 2 weeks now. Of course, it’s pretty short to have an accurate picture but here are my results so far:

Page impressions: 457
Clicks: 7
Page Click Thru Rate (CTR): 1.53%
Earnings: $1.37

Yup, a big whole $1.37. I’ll keep them for a little longer. I think I managed to make them not too intrusive as well… More later.

StatistiquesStats are on every website owner minds. Even myself, who I claimed at first that my blog was only for my sole purpose, I love to know some people come over here to read the stuff I write. Stats help you get an idea of how many visitors but also what topics interest them the most. If you look at the image on the right, click for a larger view, you’ll see that I get quite a few unique visitors. Of course, many of them are search engine robots roaming the net but according to my blog software stats I’ve had 3000+ human visitors since I started it back in February. That’s out of 8000+ visitors.

But what does Adsense have anything to do with this? Well Google Adsense let’s you put ads on your website and you get paid for displaying the ads if people click on them of course. Now this can be interesting for bigger sites such as www.Motorcycle-Journal.com where ads can make more sense. For a personal blog? I’m still a bit iffy on that one, but I’m willing to try it. The only reason I’m willing to try it is because I already have an Adsense account for the purpose of www.Motorcycle-Journal.com. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be as interesting since to minimize their fees, Google pays only is you’ve collected $100US.

So basically, don’t freak out if you see Google Ads on this site. I don’t know how long I’ll let them up but I’ll keep you posted on the results!

My Mac Mini As I mention in my All at the same time entry, my Mac mini cames with 512 MB of RAM instead of the the ordered 1.25GB. Monday, I received the 1GB SO-DIMM RAM module so I had to open the mini. After a quick review on how to open up the thing, I tried it myself. It’s pretty unnerving to open a brand new expensive toy, especially when you literally have to use putty knives to pry the thing open. That’s right, no screws, there’s 15 plastic tabs holding the thing together.

If you look at the pictures, you’ll see the tools on the desk…

The SO-DIMM location are on the lower right of the second picture.

We’re getting two new computers. Yes two. I’ll be ordering my Mac Mini this week. I’m going with the Core Solo configuration, 1.25 GB of RAM, 60 GB of hard disk and SuperDrive (CD-DVD DL Burner). I’m also gettin an empty NewerTech Mini Stack in wich I’ll pu the other 60GB hard disk that is currently in my G4. No keyboard, no mouse, no monitor as the ones I do have are still fine.

The second computer wi going to be a Dell Dimension 1100. It has a 2.66 GHz Celeron D, 521 MB of RAM, 160GB of hard disk, combo drive and Windows XP Home. It comes with keyboard, mouse and pc speakers, no monitors though. A friend found me a link for a superb deal for that setup: $299 + taxes, no shipping. That’s comes for a total of $343! When I saw the price and compared it to the Mini I admit I cringed a little but I do want a Mac.

It’s always nice to know that people read you, and even better to know that people like you and come back! I found this nice review from Julie over at Google Librarian Blog about my site. Kevin from the Trap also has a nice blurb about my humble internet presence. Colleen from Mystical Twilight also has an entry on me although it was on my Lower Fairing Project and not really a review of my blog

Thank you to all three of you.

And if you know of any other reviews, let me know.
