Stats are on every website owner minds. Even myself, who I claimed at first that my blog was only for my sole purpose, I love to know some people come over here to read the stuff I write. Stats help you get an idea of how many visitors but also what topics interest them the most. If you look at the image on the right, click for a larger view, you’ll see that I get quite a few unique visitors. Of course, many of them are search engine robots roaming the net but according to my blog software stats I’ve had 3000+ human visitors since I started it back in February. That’s out of 8000+ visitors.
But what does Adsense have anything to do with this? Well Google Adsense let’s you put ads on your website and you get paid for displaying the ads if people click on them of course. Now this can be interesting for bigger sites such as www.Motorcycle-Journal.com where ads can make more sense. For a personal blog? I’m still a bit iffy on that one, but I’m willing to try it. The only reason I’m willing to try it is because I already have an Adsense account for the purpose of www.Motorcycle-Journal.com. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be as interesting since to minimize their fees, Google pays only is you’ve collected $100US.
So basically, don’t freak out if you see Google Ads on this site. I don’t know how long I’ll let them up but I’ll keep you posted on the results!

Congrats Louis! You are having nice stats.
Like you, I write first for myself but seeing the stats for my blog is also an encouragement that other people than myself and my husband are coming to read all the babbling I’m writting!
Although I don’t have the numbers you have, I feel it motivates me to keep up with my blog.

I’ll give you guys a tip – add a ‘introduce yourself’ blog page, and link it from your blog, then when visitors come along, they can leave you a message.
I love it simply because not only can I see the visitor stats, but I get to know the people who are reading my blog.

Really nice stats Louis. I wouldn’t expect to get those numbers but same thing with what you and Natalie said. I blog usually just to express myself and then I see stats from other visitors and it makes me more eager to continue blogging.
Hmmm… interesting concept Darren. I might try that one time. I would love to know more about my visitors unless ofcourse they were just there to spam up.
